POSITIVE STRIDES FOR OLI WEBB AND BYKOLLES FOLLOWING THE WEC PROLOGUE

Oli Webb returned from the 2016 FIA WEC Prologue in high spirits following a gruelling but successful test with his new ByKolles team. Watched by thousands of fans who turned out at Circuit Paul Ricard near the stunning French Riveria, Oli laid down some serious track time with both his teammates tied up with commitments in Japan. The event provided the public with their first live glimpse of the new cars as all categories showed off their hard work during the winter to produce plenty of action for the throngs of spectators.

The Prologue provided Oli with an opportunity to benchmark against the other LMP1 teams and he was pleased to see his ByKolles machine just a few seconds off the factory giants of Porsche, Toyota and Audi. It was also pleasing to see a sizeable speed-gap to the LMP2 teams behind as Oli posted a fastest time of 1:43:236 around the 3.8km track, over 3 seconds quicker than the nearest LMP2 car of Signatech Alpine.

“It was a great 2 days testing and we tried out some new parts which worked well. We’ll hopefully have more to try out come Silverstone. It was a good chance to acclimatise with my new team and the car and get some night running in on the first test day. It’s a whole new beast and new challenge but we’re ready for Silverstone which I’m hugely excited about, it will be an absolute pleasure to race in front of my home fans at a track I’ve got a massive amount of fondness for.”
